Harry Potter Book and Altered Composition book.

Here is the brand spanking new project. Though I did over 50% and most of the plotting, this book was jointly done between my mother and brother. Think we did a fabulous job. The book was put together by a Cinch. Overall it uses a lot of Tim Holtz Distress ink, some Tim Holtz charms, Harry Potter paper, a pad called Happily Ever After. The video shows the clasp which I forgot to take a picture of. Enjoy.

The HP with the snitch was a sculpey clay creation by me. It was painted then had some metallic powder added to get the finished look. Mom found this awesome ribbon and I added the Tim Holtz lock and key (Mom's idea). I also crafted the clasp from scrap leather and the buckle was just a fashion buckle from joanns but I took alcohol ink so it was the appropriate color.

The front inside is the Maruader Map. Just some cardstock behind it with a little distress ink on the cardstock. The first page is just a postcard and a little sticker that will have trip details.

The House points with little pictures of the house flags. There is a little mini tag page in between the two pages.

The mini tag - tribute to my brothers loyalty to the Slytherin house. Picture was placed on some frayed burlap. and cardstock was scrapped up with an xacto blade.

Diagon Alley- The favorite part for the family was the shops and their favorite shop was placed on the left page while the right page is a pocket containing picture tags of other store pictures.

One side of the picture tags. Mom and Keith did the picture tags

Ollivanders wand shop. I took 3 pictures of the shop and used 2 of them for the top of the page and the the the sign was fussycutted. My brother was excited for the wand of Lord Voldemort. He likes to say that he is evil.

9 3/4 - My dad has always worked for the railroads so this was another part they looked forward to. I left the left page a little plain but used a red border to pick up the other page. While I fussycutted the train out of the paper and added the hogwart express sticker then bordered it with grey cardstock so it would have extra strength. The pocket contains several pictures of  9 3/4.

The castle. It also has a picture tag of the views to the castle. I didn't let mom add much to it cause I didn't want the awesome paper not to show through but Mom and Keith designed these two pages.

The picture tag. Done on some board

The left is the owlry. Which I think mom said that was in Ollivander's wand shop. This was Moms work. The right is just a simple book picture which was somewhat the inspiration of the look of this book.

This page set took the longest, mainly due to all the fussycutting. I wanted the paper to shine just as much as the pictures and I wanted 6 images to fit in the two 6x12 page. So I cut out the signs and bordered the rest. I think all the fussycutting was worth it.

The Daily Prophet paper. I wanted to make it look a little like part of the paper so I cut the signage on one picture and also made it into a flip page being inspired by the photo album from a 1950 album that my grandmother put together. I have been scanning my grandmothers entire photo collection lately.

The right page was keith's first rollercoaster ride ever. Takes after mom cause he never was into rollercoasters while Dad, my older brother and I could never get enough of them. I am afraid of heights so I think that might be part of the fun. Buckbeak image was done by SpottedPegasus on DeviantArt. I just had no desire to draw the bird so I googled it. Though, I did color him with some muted blues, purples and pinks with Copic markers.

I added an extra page at the end but left it with not much on it but some wisdom from Ginny Weasley. And the back is from a sign on a door. We liked it and used it as our back. I did make a deathly hallow for the bottom back but didn't like that it didn't lay very well so I didn't use it.

For my brothers upcoming birthday, I can't afford anything for him. Not even 10$ for this cute pop bubble head of Captain America. So I had to do something. A while back ago my mom paid 25 cents per composition book so she bought a whole lot of them. My brother is always using notebooks so I figured why not make him a special one. I even gave it a ribbon book  mark that is attached in the binding.

The front cover was a paper from Happily Ever After paper stack. I couldn't find a way to include it in the book so I figured it would be a stunning cover. Sadly so stunning that I didn't add anything but the thick stickers and some distress ink. The side of the pages were Distress inked in two shades of red which you can see in the video.

The inside cover. I love adding pockets for notes. So added his favorite Slytherin green. The first page I added some Tim Holtz stamps that my mom just got. Looked like Gryffindor.

The back was just simple spell paper with some inked edges.

The back was simple too. I don't like to add much to the back. but I did add some ink. well had to anyway cause I accidently layed it on wet ink. oops!

I was excited for the projects so I made a whole bunch of digital stamps. I haven't colored much but I will post the rest after I do. The first one is Hermoine in her Yule ball dress. I got to use a couple of the new colors that we just got so this was the first one I did.

Dolores Umbridge. I loved the cheerful wardrobe she had. So nice not to see a bad guy in something than a muted or dark colour scheme.

My favorite character Sirius Black. This was the longest to draw because I pinstriped the jacket and shirt and having to freehand the long lines. but it was worth it. I wish the photo would show it in better detail. I should scan them instead.

So there you have it. The end of the Harry Potter madness. I just finished a great composition book. Best one yet but I haven't uploaded any video or pictures cause I am traveling to southern Florida as of Sunday for a few days for my grandmothers birthday. So I will post them next week after I get back.

I am excited for my next project which the pieces are sitting on my work bench. It is another book based off my photography but a cuter subject then concerts. I have a collection of butterfly photography. From simple park pictures to butterfly gardens and the zoo. I have gathered some awesome paper including a line from BoBunny.  I can't wait to dive into it.
